 SONNET 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? – Comparing to a summer day
Thou art more lovely and more temperate: -Describing how lovely and immortal
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, -Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date: - The summer season is to short
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,  – Its describing the hot sun
And often is his gold complexion dimm’d; – The clouds are hiding the suns rays
And every fair from fair sometime declines, -Everything will one day become old
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d; -Natures course is unproven
But thy eternal summer shall not fade -Its saying that you as a person shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest; – Nor lose being gorgeous
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade, -Not leting death control you
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:  – Saying that you will live long life
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, – So long as people are alive
So long lives this and this gives life to thee. – So long lives this and this gives life to thee
